New year, New Start!

Well what an ending we had to 2009! And no posts since October! So what have we been up to? Well loads really!! Not much agility, mainly because we were winding down for christmas, and then I always give the dogs a complete break in December. Plus Smudge had a minor injury towards the end of the year and I wanted to make sure he was completely better. Fingers crossed he is now fighting fit, and he seems it on walks, but I guess going back to full on agility is going to be the real test. We started back two weeks ago and I really noticed how unfit I had become over the christmas period! The sand school that we train in has a really deep surface, and it is hard work to run on at the best of times. I was exhausted! So I am back on my fitness regime, involving cutting out eating all the junk (very difficult!) and taking up running again. My new years resolution is to improve my fitness!!

We have finally finished moving and have really settled in. It took so long to unpack all the boxes, and I hate having things in boxes. You can never find anything when you need it!!

The new house is pretty homely really and feels like home now. Will try and take some photos for the next post. I was starting to panic about the dogs and any barking they might decide to partake in (after all I do own shelties, kind of comes with the territory!) But the longer I have been here, the less worried I am about it. We have had a couple of crazy barking 'welcome home' sessions and a few 'wow this toy is the best thing ever' sessions and so far none of the neighbours have been battering my door down to complain so I am guessing it isn't disturbing them! Either that or they are just too scared to come and tell me!

One of the nice things about this house is that it is even closer to my work, and I can walk to work in fifteen minutes. Great for leaving late in the morning, and also for getting back to walk the dogs nice and early. The dogs have all settled in well and I think are quite enjoying their new home really. It is so close to the beach you can almost smell it and that makes Scooby a very happy dog indeed!!

Our first show of the year will be a local one in February, so over the next few weeks I will be working hard on Smudges contacts, as I am sure they will have slipped a bit over the break. My aim is to come out this season with contacts that are exactky the same in the ring as they are in training! I feel that we are on the correct track and that we are making progress, but the real test will be at the February show.

We actually had snow in Jersey this year, which is amazing! Not the kind of snow that England is having, just a small scattering really. But believe me in Jersey that is big news!! The entire island comes to a standstill, schools are shut, people can't get to work etc etc. It makes me laugh when I watch the news and see how much England is having to cope with. Well I am sure there are lots of other things that have happened and I am probably missing from this post, but I just cannot think of them right now! I have come into 2010 feeling really positive and am really looking forward to what the new year will bring!
